All Valkyria Chronicles fans have been longing for a figure manufactured by well known manufacturer such as Alter, GSC, Max Factory, Griffon Enterprise, Kotobukiya and many more. It turns of out that Kotobukiya lives up to the fans’ expectation.

After seeing couple images all around the net, I think she turns out really well. Her base is just lovely since it gives you a worn-out look and correct me if I am wrong, it looks like she’s standing on top Edelweiss, Squad 7 tank driven by Isara. Hanz, the winged pig, is also included as part of the whole package. Having an extra is always nice, isn’t it ? besides who would not want Hanz, the mascot of Square 7 in a hit game , Valkyria Chronicles.

What do you think ? I think she’s pretty much the same as the original one that we saw in the game/anime series. Kotobukiya may have nailed it on this figure, however, I still need to wait until I get mine on December. Her eyes have quite a few details and they are nicely done.

I am even more amazed with how well made and painted her rifle gun is. Slightly nitpicking on my side, the white strip on her gun is too bold/thick. It should have been slightly transparent and rifle colour would have been better if it’s lighter colour.

So far I am happy with how she turns out so she will stay in my pre-order list ^^.

Hanz, a winged pig, is the mascot of Squad Seven in Valkyria Chronicles. Will you still buy the figure if Hanz is not included ?

Additional tidbits

She will be my second pre-order from my Wonder Festival Summer 2010 wish list. I had pre-ordered Miku’s figure previously but always canceled it at the end due to either other figures or deemed to be not worth it. Since I have nothing else coming out in January 2011, there is no doubt that she will be in my possession and my first figure in 2011 ^^.

This figure pose was taken from Tony Taka‘s illustration on Comiket 77. He’s well known character designer and his work includes, but not limited to, Shining series, Fault!, Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro and many others including doujinshi. You can download Hatsune Miku’s wallpaper by Tony Taka here.

As far I can see from the photos around the Net, the details are just very astonishing and awesome. And what’s more is that she’s very well priced for something at 1/7 scale; she is priced at ‘only’ ¥8,400. Pretty affordable, isn’t she ?

All in all, she is more than worthy to be in my pre-order and to be the first figure on 2011 in my possession.

Despite my previous experience with Kotobukiya’s quality which is hit and miss (50-50 chance), I had decided to get preorder her in my previous post. She is little bit pricey though for a Kotobukiya figure , although, it’s probably due to her 1/6 scale. For most people, its price is probably such a turn off since it rivals Alter/GSC figures in general. I hope the quality is as good as the price >.<.

Since I enjoy the series and vampire theme of anything whether it’s anime or movies, the chance of canceling my preorder is extremely low. I wonder if we will be getting the figure itself plus the red cloth since it would be really great for a photo shoot and also I am kind curious what kind of base that will come with this figure.

For those who haven’t watched the series, her pose was taken from the anime ED song. She is one of main protagonist character and her character gives you overpowering aura since she is the ruler of all vampire, however, at some other time, you can see her kindness as she truly cares all vampires.

November 2010 is getting busy with a lot of releases due to recent WonFes summer 2010 and of course, my wallet is getting thinner and thinner. I keep saying about my wallet but it surely didn’t stop me from pre-ordering. I guess it happened to everyone, did it ?

Another preorder of Saber Lily and this time is the nendo version. It’s due for release on October 2009. Since I already have Alter Nanoha and Alter Saber Lily from my recent preorder, I had to cancel my Miku “World is Mine”, otherwise,  I will go over the limit of 1 figure / month  and I know there will be at least pre-order in December 2009 so I would like to keep that month empty. Cancelling Miku saves me about 3,000 yen which is a good thing ^^.

Excalibur, Avalon and Caliburn with its scabbard are all included as separate weapons so there will be a lot of possibilities for poses ^^.

Since nendoroid is generally small, I usually carry it around like what I did with my Saber Lion Nendoroid. Whenever I go to a park or any other places, I always bring her along. Do you have any figures/figmas/nendos that you usually carry with you in your bag ? Danny always carry at least one with him every time I see his photos.

With the great success of Saber Lily, it comes down to one question for all Saber fans (and non-fans). Do you think Saber Lily should be the original Saber instead of her current blue armor ? Do you like Saber Lily version more than the original one ? For me, the white clothing fits perfectly with her silver/shiny armor in comparison to blue clothing + silver amor.

It’s been a while since my last pre-order post: Miku World is Mine but now there are 2 great figures being released on October by Alter. One is Saber Lily 1/8 and the other is Nanoha Takamachi 1/7.  Being manufactured by Alter, they both are quite pricey especially Nanoha but of course, sometimes price is no longer an issue for us figure collectors when it’s from our favourite series. Saber Lily

I think it’s too early to say which one is the better Saber Lily, GSC or Alter until I receive both on my hands. Based on the pictures alone, my preference is slightly leaning towards the GSC version. In term of details, they both are on par with each other, however, GSC version has Distant Avalon noble Phantasm which adds an extra value for purchasing it. In addition, GSC version base has more details than Alter’s plain base. I believe both are still worth buying though. Do you preorder GSC version , Alter version or both ?

Takamichi Nanoha Exceed Mode

Just couple months ago, we were amazed by Fate T Harlaown True sonic form by Alter and now, Alter introduces Takamichi Nanoha Exceed Mode ver.. Those 4 little things on the side look great and the wings on her feet are also awesome, however, all great figures come with a price and this one is no exception. Hobby Search is selling her for 12,160 Yen and she will be released on the same month as Saber Lily. Do you pre-order both Saber Lily and Nanoha ? I know I will be broke on October since I pre-ordered both >.>

A question suddenly pops in my head for my fellow readers and lurkers. How many figures do you get per month in average and do you limit yourself on how many figures you can buy in a month ? Don’t forget to include impulse buying on your answers ;p
