After unsatisfactory result from last photo shoot for Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz, I made some major changes on how I did it. As I said in my last post , I bought some vellum paper for my lightbox which I made from scratch. The vellum paper costed me around $8 after tax for 4 sheets.

I think the result is much better than before since I used 3 lamps in total. I got 2 extra work lamps for $9.99 each from IKEA ^^. Cheap stuff but they work well for my lightbox.

Overall I am happy with the result however, the background needs some more works since it’s a white background so I need to adjust the white balance on my camera more. White fabric probably works better as the background instead of white paper which I took from FSN 2007 Calendar. More decoration would be nice too like a beach background, umbrella, sand, rocks etc as I saw other bloggers did it (can’t remember who -.-)

I thought it would be great to start a new month with a figure post so here it goes, Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz. This figure is one of the four that I asked from my parents to buy when they went to Japan. They bought it from the same shop, Softmap which according to Rin, there maybe 2 or 3 in Akihabara alone.

Her pose is so cute and at the same time, kinda daring ^__^ as she is about to undress her bikini top.

During this photo shoot, I tried to use a white background for a better result so I used couple pieces of white paper for printing and put them together as the background. The result turned out pretty good except that some of the photos, you can see the line between each paper. In addition, since my room does not have enough lightning, I grabbed my table lamp and used it from different angles. I think the result would have been better if I have 2 additional lightning so there will be no shadow.

My friend who knows more about photography in general came to help me setting up my camera , lightning and background. Basically I learned at least a thing or two about photography in general and I am really satisfied with the results. My best so far I think.

Her thighs are kinda big / out of proportion to her body. Maybe it’s just me ^^;;

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Saber White Swimsuit by Clayz

Looks like I am getting closer to my goal: acquire every Saber PVC figures out there ^____^. I got this Saber White Swimsuit version 1/6 scale by Clayz back in December. I asked my parents to grab me some figures when they went to Japan and I was surprised that they managed to get me 4 figures in total ^__^.

I spent some time with this figure trying to get the best quality results. I took more than 200 shots for this figure alone with my Nikon D40 in order to get the image quality that I am satisfied with. I played around with a lot of settings my Nikon D40 and can’t seem to get the right one. Oh well….. I am a newbie photographer >.>

I took couple pics right by my window for more light and better results.

The quality of the figure is decent. One thing that really bugs me is the line on saber’s right elbow as seen in above picture. Her face is somewhat different than the real Saber in the anime. The figure has more oval face.
