A rare figure from Canvas 2 : Niji Iro no Sketch ( Canvas2 ～虹色のスケッチ～ ) which I bought from Fan Expo 2008 last week for $60. Expensive price tag but I like the series a lot and I rarely see this figure since it’s released long time ago. Canvas 2 is one of those series that I have watched multiple times already so getting this figure is totally worth it for me despite the price. Gattai!!!!!

Another Saber figure is added to my Fate series figures collection and this time is the Saber Holiday version by Good Smile Company. Unlike other 1/8 figures that I have, this one is 1/6 scale (Yes James, I do buy 1/6 figures occasionally ^^). It was released back in October 2006 for 6,476 Yen ($59.00 US) so it’s quite an old figure and  I couldn’t remember where I got this from ^^;

The background colour works really well with her brown dress and base colour. I made them slightly darker than usual and the results still came up pretty well I think.

Another figure outside my collection of Fate figures is Feena Farm Earthlight from anime/erogo Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na (夜明け前より瑠璃色な, Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro n) by Max Factory. This was more of an impulse buy when I saw this figure for the first time at Dannychoo.com. I was totally captivated by this figure. She just looks perfect with her blue bikini and pareu; without hesitation, I ordered it right away at Hobby Link Japan ^o^.

This figure comes with removable hat and pareu. She looks gorgeous even without her pareu although her leg seems to little bit long or is it just my imagination ? ^^;;. The base is the usual sand beach texture similar to Kousaka Tamaki’s one.

For this photo shoot session, I used blue background and I think it works great with her bikini colour :).

I purchased this figure from AnimeXtreme booth at Anime North 2008 for $40 and it’s a good deal considering it will cost ~$60 at Hobby Link Japan. This figure was released back by Kotobukiya in November 2006 so it’s an old figure, hence, the price was considerably cheap ^^.

As expected from Kotobukiya, they produce high quality figures and I have no complaints what so ever with this figure especially at $40 unlike my previous one.The base is decent and they made a look-alike sand on the beach. Not much details on this figure except on the frilled bikini and nothing can be cast-off.

I took Ron’s advice about the settings on my camera. I used f/11 on my Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens and quite satisfied with the result except the background. Using white background is really tough to master and  despite of using 3 lamps, I still got yellow-orange ish near the edge on some of the photos :(. I am thinking of redoing this one using a black background since it will be a perfect match with her bikini and may come with better results.

This figure is highly recommended for Tamaki-nee’s fans which I am sure there are a lot of them out there ^^.

I bought this figure at Anime North 2008 last May for $45 from Anime-Xtreme booth. This was more like a sudden purchased or SAF (suddenly acquired figure). The reason I got was because her expression is cute and the whole idea of “Banana is a snack?” theme.

I am not sure what the white base represents with 1 green thingy and 1 red thingy.

It feels like forever since my last figure post and I tried something new during this photo shoot. That’s right….. I used black background. I’ve been using white background since the beginning so a change would be nice and the result turned out pretty good imo ^^.

I got this figure a while back in April from Hobby Link Japan for 5600 Yen / $50. One thing I like about Griffon Enterprises’ products is the figure base because there is always a name plate on it ^^ and the base is shiny too.

Finally, after waiting for more than 2 months, I finally got my Saber Alter figure. It was supposed to be released back in March 2008 but it got delayed until mid May 2008 ^^;;. This easily becomes my favorite figure among others ^^.

This figure caught my eyes while I was wondering around in the dealer room at Anime North 2008. I thought it is just an original work by Solid Theater just like Banana is a snack? figure, it turned out that she is Kaede Tsukimiya, a character from Miraroma eroge. Danny mentioned about this eroge last month.

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of Fate series ^_^ so most of my figures are from the Fate series. Caren Hortensia is one of the characters in Fate / Hollow Ataraxia ( フェイト/ホロウアタラクシア). I haven’t read the novel yet but it does not stop me from getting this figure.

I bought this figure from www.hlj.com for ¥4,290 (approximately ~$41). It’s quite challenging to take some pictures since my lightbox is kinda limited in term of space and this figure is pretty wide because of her red cloth of Magdala.

After unsatisfactory result from last photo shoot for Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz, I made some major changes on how I did it. As I said in my last post , I bought some vellum paper for my lightbox which I made from scratch. The vellum paper costed me around $8 after tax for 4 sheets.

I think the result is much better than before since  I used 3 lamps in total. I got 2 extra work lamps for $9.99 each from IKEA ^^. Cheap stuff but they work well for my lightbox.
