Bakuman manga ended

The last chapter scanlation was released this past Thursday and it ends Bakuman after 176 chapters. It’s been really entertaining and great to follow Bakuman manga each week. As one of my fellow bloggers, @Kurotsuki, said all good things must come to an end, on the other end, no dragging is such a relieved.

Looking back from chapter 1 through chapter 176, I think we all can agree that it was a great manga about becoming a manga author which is not an easy job. My friend and I had a quick discussion on how the manga ends and we thought that it was little bit rushed towards the end especially the last 10 chapters. It’s great that Mashiro and Takagi were able to overtake/compete with Eiji with Reversi as their flagship manga but Azuki’s audition for Reversi could have been expanded more and made into its own arc (my wishful thinking). What do readers think ? Do you think it could have been made into few chapters longer ? or is the way it is now fine ?

      All good things must come to an end. 176 chapters is a pretty good run and good length. Would you rather see it dragging on and never ends like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece ?

    i loved the fact that they didn’t expand azuki auditions and was rather thrilled by each of the last 20 chapters or so.
    DEFINETLY WAS A MASTERPIECE …….

       Can’t deny that it’s a masterpiece :) but it’s interesting that you think that it’s fine the way it is. I was also thrilled by the last 20 chapters but I expected the thrill to last little bit longer…. maybe 30 chapters ?

    I think the two mangakas based their story on Bakuman Through their experience. Can you imagine guys, two mangaka and its said that they want to finish their manga to create a new best manga, so i think their experience are put into manga!

    Personally, I’m still not sure how I feel about this ending. The past few chapters pace went up so fast I didn’t get the time to prepare myself for the ending. That being said, I’m glad they ended it rather then expend it Ad vitam æternam , still I could have used an epilogue or something. This story basially ended like Reversi, BAM ENDING. oh well. Looking forward to the duo’s next work.

       Epilogue would be nice and I don’t mind additional 10 chapters but yah the way bakuman ends is similar to Reversi. It’s possible the duo decided to end Bakuman just like Reversi when they were working on those Reversi chapters.
