My recent trip to The Big Apple (New York City) during Christmas (hence why there’s no Christmas post -_- as I had no internet access) added couple more items to my collection. For some reasons, I didn’t bother to get 2010 calendar but visiting New york, there’s one place that I must visit. It’s Kinokuniya japanese book store. It’s something that we, otaku in Canada, are hoping to have it here and will continue to dream that one day, Kinokuniya will open branch stores here in Canada.
I only bought 2 items from Kinokuniya…surprisingly. The first one is Kobato (こばと) 2010 calendar for ~$30 . Kobato is my new favourite anime for this fall season and it’s just because she reminds me so much of Sakura from Card Captor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. I scanned each month image for your enjoyment ^^.
If you want the original scanned versions, click here to download. I would appreciate if you link back to my site when you use any of these images on your site ^^.
It must have been a Clamp day or something because I spotted an art book ‘All about Clamp’ which lists all anime/manga series by Clamp for the last 15-20 years. I got it for $28.80 which is a good deal imo because it’s quite thick.

blah, I spent 1 month and 2 weeks in NYC, and I didn’t even get to go down to Kinokuniya ;_;. But that’s because I was low on cash and new it would be fatal for my credit card if I went there. Hopefully they’ll open one store in canada someday. Preferably in Montreal because you guys in Toronto get all the good things already, you oughta share a bit ._.

Impulse buying ? lol. I dunno about Montreal but if they are going to open branch stores in Canada, I figure it would be either Vancouver or Toronto first.
Nice Kobato calender~ Afaik, there is no Kinokuniya in Hong Kong either, but the fact that there’s a large number of shops that sell localised / translated books and manga anyway made it not so much of a problem

Unfortunately, we have limited number of shops here in Toronto and they usually don’t sell wide range of items.

Hey…my blog can be cute sometimes ^^

I like April and May. Bought anything else in NYC?
Fortunately, those all are my loot. I didn’t want to spend a lot since I have pre-ordered coming soon.
I try very hard to only go to kino once a month. Since it’s only 10mins from my workplace, it’s hard. -_-
Nowadays I hardly buy anything from there anymore since I stopped collecting my monthly megami volumes. Still, it doesn’t mean I can’t order anything I want over the counter. lol
