My Fate-T-Harlaown 1/7 figure by Alter arrived yesterday. It’s been a long wait for us, figure collectors, especially any Fate fanboys/girls out there.Delay after delay, does it really worth the price and the delays ? Let pictures be the judge.

I think the box is pretty nice and I like the colour scheme. Now, lets talk how much it cost.
Original Price : 12,160 Yen
Shipping: 4,000 Yen
Points: -532 Yen
Total: 15,628 Yen
Exchange Rate to Canadian Dollar: ~$186
Custom fee: $23
Final cost: $209
Ouchie $209. I complained a bit about the custom fee in twitter but after hearing what James (Exelica-Meteor.com) had to pay ($55), $23 is not so bad after all 
. So how much did you have to pay for the custom fee ? Anyone pays more than $55 ?
Btw, James got his review/photo shoot up at his blog. I haven’t opened mine yet so photoshoot has to wait ^^;;. Currently, I am satisfied looking at the box.

UPS ripped me off of 45 bucks once for something I paid around 90 for (plus 30 USD shipping). Proportion wise, that’s the worst. Another was somewhere alone the lines of 12 bucks for a 25 bucks figure I bought second handed.

France is the worst country about custom fees so i don’t think someone will have more to pay than me :p (and no , it’s not something to be proud of :’()

Oh my gosh. Shipping was 6100 for you. That’s crazy. It’s almost half the price of the figure.
That’s some box there o_o.
This has got to be the biggest box I’ve seen next to that Yami box from To Love-Ru…

Actually, Any Magical Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS characters from Alter usually have a big box but this one is the biggest one so far.
Funny enough Hayate’s box is actually slightly bigger than Fate’s. I wouldn’t have known until I saw it myself on Alter’s official blog.

I’ve heard of shipping prices as high as 7000 Yen in figure.fm, mostly to the UK and some parts of the USA.
Mine arrived some time on 27th last month. While I can’t get to see it myself and open the box (as I am away right now) it’s great for me that I get to get it relatively early and in a good price in Hong Kong.

Yep. James from Exelica Meteor got charged 6100 yen for shipping and he is in France so 7000 yen for UK makes sense.
I feel pity for the ppl who has to pay custom fees whereas Australia is one of the lucky ones who don’t unless the item or items is AUD$1000 or more. Yeah, I do consider myself being lucky but we do have our own problems like the game rating system where most ‘gore’ games are banned here.

Well each country has its own positives and negatives so it’s matter of whether or not you can deal with the negatives ^^. I heard Australia is pretty strict with their internet so basically they are regulating the internet.
I wouldn’t say strict but we do have a quota limit where many countries don’t. Internet censorship is another factor the government tried to intervene as well but the ISP never complied to being with so that went down drain.
Yup, the government failed at that bit. xD

We have issues with ISPs not liking torrents here ^^; so they throttle our speed when downloading from torrents during peak period. Not to mentioned, we don’t have enough competitions here in Canada because more competitions = customer wins. Our telecommunication is monopolized by 3 major companies >.<
Nice haul! The most I have paid for customs was about $60. It was one HUGE box of figures.

Yeah, Customs suck >_< My recommendation: go to Asia and then buy them on the last few days before the year ends ^_^ hahaha
