It’s been a while since my last pre-order post: Miku World is Mine but now there are 2 great figures being released on October by Alter. One is Saber Lily 1/8 and the other is Nanoha Takamachi 1/7. Being manufactured by Alter, they both are quite pricey especially Nanoha but of course, sometimes price is no longer an issue for us figure collectors when it’s from our favourite series. Make use of your credit card people ^^ and have fun paying it on the next month ^^;;. More pictures below via Hobby Search.
Saber Lily
I think it’s too early to say which one is the better Saber Lily, GSC or Alter until I receive both on my hands. Based on the pictures alone, my preference is slightly leaning towards the GSC version. In term of details, they both are on par with each other, however, GSC version has Distant Avalon noble Phantasm which adds an extra value for purchasing it. In addition, GSC version base has more details than Alter’s plain base. I believe both are still worth buying though. Do you preorder GSC version , Alter version or both ?
Takamichi Nanoha Exceed Mode
Just couple months ago, we were amazed by Fate T Harlaown True sonic form by Alter and now, Alter introduces Takamichi Nanoha Exceed Mode ver.. Those 4 little things on the side look great and the wings on her feet are also awesome, however, all great figures come with a price and this one is no exception. Hobby Search is selling her for 12,160 Yen and she will be released on the same month as Saber Lily. Do you pre-order both Saber Lily and Nanoha ? I know I will be broke on October since I pre-ordered both >.>

I barely met my restriction for only 1 figure per month average. I got nothing coming in May and June since Saber Lily -Distant Avalon- got delayed to end of August 2009 so I should not pre-order anything until December 2009. A question suddenly pops in my head for my fellow readers and lurkers. How many figures do you get per month in average and do you limit yourself on how many figures you can buy in a month ? Don’t forget to include impulse buying on your answers ;p

Thankfully I’m not getting either Saber lily as the only version I really want is the figma version.

Really hard to say, since the price of the figures I own varies a bit too much and it’s usally several in one month and then none for the next few. From this point on it’ll probably be Saber only, and not including the nendoroid, that’s 3.
The only problem I have with Alter’s version is the white plates. Other than that I’m perfectly satisfied. I prefer a more gentle looking Saber anyway.
absolutely can’t wait to have alter’a nanoha and fate ^^ will have to do a lot of rearranging to get them display space though orz
i budget myself on $ spent on figures (pre)ordered per month. that way i don’t have to worry about release dates (which can change) ^^; i’m currently trying to keep myself under $500 in orders per month, but will have to do better because that’s not sustainable ^^;;;

LOL lucky you for not being a Nanoha fan. I honestly couldn’t resist Fate and Nanoha after I got my Alter Signum.
I don’t put price restriction either but trying to limit 1 per month in average per year.
@Optic: Yah Alter Nanoha is really pricey but looking at the figure alone, I think it’s totally worth the price. Great thing comes with great price or so they say ^^;;
Temptation and impulse buying are always our biggest enemy for us otakus. It’s tough but doable because I managed not to buying anything at Anime North convention.
@GNdynames: Hehe I am the opposite of you. I am not really fond of gentle looking Saber.
@meronpan: same here. I kinda regret not getting the other Alter’s Nanoha figures especially Hayate -_-;; .
$500 is a lot per month for figures/other anime merchandise. I am trying to keep my expenses under $200 per month for figures which is why I can only afford one figure per month.
Really deadly combo, but I pass since I am known to be picky when it comes to figures.
I was a little surprised that Nanoha is at the same price as Fate, but I got over with that pretty quickly. On the other hand she looks even more spacehogging XD

Nanoha is definite get for me, but Saber will have to give way to GSC’s version. ^^;;
I would’ve gotten this Lily as well, but my finances isn’t in tip top shape at the moment so I’ll have to skip her for now.
@Q: Space is definitely an issue with Nanoha. I don’t think my ikea detolf can fit more figures but thankfully, I am moving to a new place so there should be more rooms ^^
@T.I.P.: You made the right choice by choosing GSC’s ver. They both are great but GSC takes Saber Lily to the next level.

I am cutting down on figurines. In fact this year has been quite a year for me, many impulse buys and such ~_~.
Nanoha is on my list for October. I am giving up GSC 1/4 Feito due to Money Problems. Lol.
