This year, I am planning to attend Anime Expo 2009 from July 2 to 5 at Los Angeles Convention Centre so if anyone is going there, lets meet up ^^. This would be my first AX convention 2009 and I have been wanting to go there since forever. I was always hesitant to go to US since I have to go across the border, however, something happened in my life recently which totally washed all my worries and started planning to go to AX. It would be another separate blog post next week so look forward to it.

For those who never heard of Anime Expo (AX), it’s the biggest convention in North America in term of attendees. Last year, they had 43,000 attendees according to wikipedia. In addition, they usually have awesome guest of honors, Shokon Nakagawa and Jyukai, are some of the guests from AX 2008. Shoko is the singer of Gurren Lagan OP while Jyukai (FSN fans should know who they are) is the band who sings FSN ED Anata Ga Ita Mori.

If anyone attended AX in the past and have some trips/tricks (cheap hotel, place to eat in nearby area, how to get there, etc etc), please do let me know ^^.

Ooh, AX! That sounds like fun. I’m still not sure if I would choose it over Otakon or Fanime since I don’t follow the North American industry (and as far as I know AX has a lot of industry stuff), but it should be great nonetheless. I’m hoping to make it to at least one of the cons after I graduate, and there are a couple of California-dwellers that I’d definitely like to meet up with…ah well, I suppose the time will come. im going!!! this will be my second time going to the ax!!! 2008 was fun for me even though I went for a day and a half… Im trying to get a bunch of my friends to go in a big group. Its easier I think if you get a hotel etc. But I live somewhat close so I dont have to worry too much. Im planning to cosplay as Edward Elric/cimera, Desert Punk, yourichi from bleach and or Tifa Lockhart. Im gonna fight my friend who is dressed as Loz!!! So watch out for that.
