Another Otaku’s blog about Anime, Figures, Games and Various Events
My day 2 at Dot Con started with a cup of coffee and 2 fruit explosion muffins from Tim Hortons. Tim Hortons is a great way to start your day ^^. I arrived at the Holiday Inn around 10am and just as I expected, it was still empty and not many cosplayers were there yet. The dealer was supposed to open at 9 am according to the schedule I got but it was delayed until 11am.
While waiting for the dealer room to open, I went to Caitlin Glass & Cherami Leigh Q&A since I had nothing to do and I needed a place to sit and enjoyed my breakfast ^^. It’s quite interesting to know how voice actresses usually work and what kind of work environment they are in.
After the QA session, I went to the dealer room to check out if there is anything that I can buy. Figure wise, other than Queen Blade Alice I got from yesterday, nothing really peaked my interest. It took me a while to figure it out what I was going to get and finally I decided on Tsubasa Chronicles season 1 DVD.
Barasuishou from Rozen Maiden Träumend
Simca from Air Gear
Winry from Full Metal Alchemist
Anzu from ACG NA mascot
Every convention has to have at least one Chobit cosplayer ^^
Gaara
Yuki from Vampire Knight
Pretty awesome Grimmjow cosplay. I have seen this guy at many conventions before ^^
Zoro from One Piece
Usage from Sailor Moon (I think)
Panda ^^
Not sure from which anime this one is from. Anyone can enlighten me ?
Lettuce, Ichigo and Mint from Tokyo Mew Mew
Death Kid from Soul Eater. I think soul eater cosplays are getting popular.
Random ? ^^
From Trinity Blood if I am not mistaken
Haruhi yay!!!!!
Zelda played the song from Ocarina of Time game.
I didn’t buy a lot from this convention because there weren’t many vendors there but one thing for sure, I didn’t go home empty handed.
Another signed manga by Masakazu Morita ^^
Got this pen as a price when I played Jan Ken Pon against Masakazu-san
Tsubasa Chronicles Season 1 DVD.

Masakazu-san and Bankai ^^ from Day 1
Thoughts of Dot Con
2 Thumbs up for Dot-con for having Masakazu-san as a japanese special guest at this convention. Being a small convention, I didn’t expect them to bring someone like Masakazu-san so I am very thankful for the staffs.
I think organization and management could have been better, however, since it’s their first con, it’s totally understanable and besides, a lot of otakus said it’s not bad. Changing location 2 weeks before the convention was pretty bad thing to do but I believed they had their own reasonings.
Overall, I enjoyed myself and meeting with Masakazu was the highlight of this convention.

Death the Kid, not Death Kid. Yeah Soul Eater is good, and obviously, any popular shounen anime must have a comparable number of cosplayers at any convention in proportion to their popularity rate in Japan.

Sadly I didn’t go…
Had a Dir En Grey concert to go to!!!!!!
I missed some stuff…
You got 2 autographs!!!!!!Lucky!!!!!!
I realize that your pictures are a bit dark. I recommend to increase your ISO a bit to get a brighter image…
My camera, my ISO is on max…
@Panther: Oopps… Thx for the correction ^^;;.
@Rin: I can’t increase the ISO because high ISO is prone to more noise. It’s either I slower my shutter speed or reduce my focus. If I slower my shutter speed then, I may need a tripod to take a picture.
I was kinda playing around with my camera settings and I think I am just going to use flash all the time next time as the result turned out to be better
Wow you get to meet seiyuu Masakazu Morita? That’s sounds pretty fruitful already! I don’t usually buy a lot of stuff in conventions, so just seeing things or experience is a nice ‘loot’ for me already
Looking forward to see pics of your Alice~

@Q: Yah, it was a great experience meeting him and he’s such a great guy and very friendly.
Hopefully this weekend , I can get some photoshoots done and kinda hoping for snowing so I can do outdoor photo shoot.
That “random” cosplay looks like Rena from Higurashi with a panda mask?
I was planning to go as it was pretty close by for me, but paying $20 for entrance fee seems quite a lot for such a small convention. Nice to know you had a great time, but if I went I might have regret it.
