Dot Con is a small anime convention run by a group of dedicated anime fans through volunteer basis. The con attendees was approximately around 150-200 on Day 1 based on my estimation ^^. Despite of being a fan run anime convention, it’s severely lacking in term of organization and management.
A gloomy day for a convention
Line up for registration. Gotta love pre-reg because no line up at all
First of all, I got no con schedule at all. Rin and I were talking on how we usually schedule our day based on the con schedule information given to us at the time of registration and we totally clueless of what is happening at the con. Luckily, we managed to view the schedule and they only have one for the entire convention. although, we found out that the schedule is wrong later on ^^;;
Secondly, the con location was changed 2 weeks before it started. It was moved from downtown location to Thornhill (up town area). They do provide a shuttle bus from downtown to the Holiday Inn where the con was held, however, only 1 shuttle bus so they have to wait for 2 hours before the bus comes ^^;;.
Reno and Tidus
Tidus and Yuna
Lion Dance (Not sure why we have it at the con)
Nel <3
Sharingan Kakashi
Yuki
Not sure which miko she was cosplaying as
Kaze-Hime is here again ^^. <3 her art works.
The dealer room. Not many vendors sadly :(.
A lot of people at the con around noon.
Zack from FFXI. I believe this guy was also at the Fan Expo and AN 2008. A lot of familiar faces at this convention I must say.
Orihime
A random guy is looking for a challenge at Mario Kart.
I can’t recall from which series they are but my money is on the left one ^^
I am getting ready for the main event of this convention.
Rin’s Kagami figma. He carries this around the whole day ^^.
Gundam cosplayers. Hmmm Allelujah or Hallelujah ?
The main purpose of coming to this con is here. Kurasaki Ichigo’s voice actor, Masakazu Morita, will be having a Q&A session.
Masakazu Morita is answering some questions from the audience but it’s hard to pay attention to him when there is a cute translator right beside him ^^;;. We somehow managed to make him saying “Bankai” lol.
He shows us what the sound effects he uses as Kurosaki Ichigo when swinging around his sword.
The cute translator’s expression is just priceless.
Hollow Ichigo beats up Masakazu Morita (actually no, he’s showing us what sound effects when he got punched/kicked).
Holly (Kaze-Hime) is having a Q&A about drawing.
The end of convention.
Masakazu Morita is also the seiyuu of Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya the Hades Chapter so he did ペガサス流星拳 (Pegasasu ryūseiken). I captured him doing it with my camera so check it out at 2:10 ^^. As someone who grew up watching Saint Seiya, this is probably the best thing ever ^^.
Loot of the Day:
Miku fan art by Kaze-Hime
Queen’s gate Alice ^_____________^
Signed Bleach manga vol 19 by Masakazu Morita ^_^

Alice!!! *explodes*
It seems like it was fun even tough small and unorganized
@blowfish: it’s still a great con regardless few mishaps :). Just felt bad for those who had no idea that the place got changed.
Ichigo wut. To be honest I do not really like him, but oh well. Kaze-Hime’s works look nice.

Incidentally I actually did make it back to Toronto this weekend, but I spent all the time with my parents, oh well.
That Haruhi behind the Kaze-Hime wall scroll looks really cute, why didn’t you get a picture of her?

@GNdynames: Pretty sure that’s a guy ^^;;
@Rin: Momo got the part when he said Bankai. I hope she uploads to youtube soon ^^
Damn, this was in Ontario. I really should make more time to visit Canadian conventions. I only go to American ones so far, and small conventions sometimes have the best things going for them.
While it’s hard to do it right, at times having informal arrangements like that is best. D:
Still, looks like it was a pretty cool event, nice pics.
@GNdynames: Pretty sure that’s a guy ^^;;
I lol’d…and I seriously hope you’re wrong XD
Lack of organization is one of the reasons that I usually avoid smaller cons, but it sounded fun nonetheless. I guess it would be worth it to get to buy stuff from Kaze-Hime ;P
@Len-Vesper: Can’t really expect much from 1st convention and all staffs are on voluntary basis and from I gathered from people at the con, most of them said it’s not bad.
@ETERNAL: Nope, I am pretty sure it’s a guy because on Day 2, I saw the guy by Kaze-hime booth ^^. The good thing about a smaller con is that I got to talk to people and actually made some friends.
