Big explosion happened around 4am EDT in Downsview area (Wilson and Keele). People have been evacuated to York University and some part of 401 highway is closed to avoid traffics going near the explosion area.
Skip to 1:50 on the youtube video and you can see how big the explosion was -_-;;. It’s scary to think that it can happen here.
Update:
Another youtube video.

A firefighter was hospitalized with no vital sign according to the news on tv
What disgusted me was that city councillor Shelley Carroll, “acting Deputy Mayor” on tv blamed this on the homeowners who bought homes “that encroached on an industrial area”.
While the industrial area was there first with WWII industries and later with places like the Tesky Construction cement loading location, those homes have been there for probably 5 decades while Sunrise Propane maybe one decade.
Why does the city permit dangerous stuff like this to be ADDED to a location right across the street from a residential area?
And for Councillor Carroll to blame the residents is nothing short of absolutely disgusting.
It’s no wonder so many people have lost any respect for politicians.
@AI: Yah , I don’t get it either as of why the city let them build dangerous stuff around residential area. What was even worse that someone said in the news that the propane facility has been there longer than the residential areas which is obviously bunch of bs.
Man, I don’t even bother with politicians anymore and what they do/promise is clearly for their benefits and not for the people.
A casualty is confirmed according to National Post. I am sure there were some people at the facility at the time of explosion so there will be more casualties -_-;;
tt’s scary shit! my goodness…
@Anonymous Coward: The facility is in the middle of residential area too and I have no idea what it’s doing there and how were they allowed to build something dangerous in the middle of residential area.
The red sky were visible up to 20km radius according to people who were happened to be driving.
