Ar Tonelico - A year too late

Ignorance is bliss you may say but I wish I noticed sooner about this game and not like, a year after the US release. I know it’s sad ^^;; and kinda embarrassing. I spent 15 hours this past weekend playing this game ^^;; and I have to say it’s kinda addictive with all the battle system, synthesizing (grathmeld) and cosmosphere. I managed to finish Phase 1 and currently working on Phase 2 with Aurica path and currently on lvl 9 cosmosphere :D.

RPG mixed with dating sim is always enjoyable for me like for example, Thousand Arms back in PS one or Persona 3 (too bad I got bored with this after a while for some reasons). The old style of turn based rpg system never gets old on me ^^ and I still enjoy it up to this day, although, more and more rpgs are made with non- turn based.

Any similar PS2 games that you guys can recommend to me ?

You might enjoy the Atelier and Mana Khemia games by Gust. There’s also the other titles published by NIS.

There aren’t many English dating sims on PS2.

Ar Tonelico II might be localized later this year. I’m studying Japanese just in case it isn’t.

Thanks for the info, David. I am going to check on Atelier and Mana Khemia and most likely I am getting those. I hope Ar Tonelico II is localized soon ^^

I do also recommend the games from David. I did play them and did enjoy it.
I did love Ar Tonelico and played for a week straight till I beated it. It’s a great game!!!!!!
Waiting for Ar Tonelico 2 currently.
I recommend games like Disgaea series, .Hack//GU series and Person 3 FES. Person 3 FES is $29 plus tax for the original game and an extra 30 plus hours of extra levels and content. It is also sort of a dating sims too. Growlanser is also a great game to play too. If you have a psp, play Riveria. It’s a sick game in my book. Still, I lastly recommend the Tales series. It’s a great series, trust me.

Growlanser is good ? I heard bad news about it so I didn’t get it.

.Hack//GU series are fun and I playesd first and second one so far.

Tried persona 3 but got bored after a while for some reasons , although, I do enjoy the dating sims part of it.

^^;;, my buy list is getting longer lol.
