I thought it would be great to start a new month with a figure post so here it goes, Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz. This figure is one of the four that I asked from my parents to buy when they went to Japan. They bought it from the same shop, Softmap which according to Rin, there maybe 2 or 3 in Akihabara alone.
Her pose is so cute and at the same time, kinda daring ^__^ as she is about to undress her bikini top.
During this photo shoot, I tried to use a white background for a better result so I used couple pieces of white paper for printing and put them together as the background. The result turned out pretty good except that some of the photos, you can see the line between each paper. In addition, since my room does not have enough lightning, I grabbed my table lamp and used it from different angles. I think the result would have been better if I have 2 additional lightning so there will be no shadow.
My friend who knows more about photography in general came to help me setting up my camera , lightning and background. Basically I learned at least a thing or two about photography in general and I am really satisfied with the results. My best so far I think.
Her thighs are kinda big / out of proportion to her body. Maybe it’s just me ^^;;

I had a feeling you used flash…The thing is that you are suppose to have 2 lamps to do a good photo shoot…well, that’s what I do anyways…I can see the lines from the paper. I say use sumthing like the back side of a poster or the white back side of a big calender which I use. Still, you did a pretty good job at this…I like the Rin figure!!!
Thx for the comment ^__^. I think I am gonna re do this one till I got it perfect XD
Taking photos of a figure can be a bit tricky. There’s a site that dedicate one whole section on how to take photograph of figures and gundams. Take a look at this site:

They certainly didn’t use any flash. Depending on your camera setting, you’d have to play around with the aperture, iso setting and more. Nice figure though…
@Nasrulis: Thx for the link ^__^. I did some googling around too yesterday and learned a few things. I started creating a lightbox yesterday and just need to grab white frabric.
[...] unsatisfactory result from last photo shoot for Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz, I made some major changes on how I did it. As I said in my last post , I bought some vellum paper [...]
