Here goes, Day 3 of my journey to overclock my Xeon x3350. At this I really hate my RAM -_-. Little piece of crap can’t overclock for shit. I tried couple settings as the following:
- 450 x 8 @ 1.18vcore, 6-5-5-15 timings @1.9v -> I got it POSTed but stucked afterward
- 445 x 8 @ 1.18vcore, 6-5-5-15 timings @1.9v -> Same thing, t POSTed but stucked.
- 425 x8 @ 1.18vcore, 5-5-5-15 timings @ 1.9v -> no POST
- 420 x8 @ 1.18vcore, 5-5-5-15 timings @ 1.9v -> no POST
- 405 x8 @ 1.18vcore, 5-5-5-15 timings @ 1.9v -> it POSTed and booted to windows…. yay ? -_-;;
So far so good, I can validate CPU-z http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=339860 and running folding @ home SMP Client now for stress testing. I think I am going 5 MHz at a time for the FSB. Temperature wise, it increases by 1 to 2 degrees. Pretty decent I think ^^.
I am going to let it run overnight and if there is no crash, I consider it stable then I can move on to 410 MHz FSB.
